With over 30 years experience in design, advertising + marketing, Andrew Spark understands that starting a conversation between businesses, and between business and the consumer, requires a level of perception that is both street wise and elegant.
“I was the VP of the Chamber back in 2011 when we suffered a devastating natural disaster. The people of Ipswich, as they always do, came out in droves to help their fellow residents. The Chamber needed to back our community too so we developed the Shop Ipswich campaign in partnership with Ipswich City Council. The campaign ran for several years across legacy and particularly new media while bringing together a groundswell of support for local business as the region rebuilt,” Spark said.
“The business environment both locally and internationally has certainly shifted since that time but some truths remain. Community members will generally prefer to buy from local suppliers. These are values I have lived all my life. My business is Ipswich based, a majority of my clients are owner operated Ipswich businesses and it is in part this symbiotic relationship that creates a ripple effect throughout the wider community. We all have a part to play.”
“I am more than pleased to sponsor the reinvigorated Shop Ipswich campaign in partnership with other local businesses and Council. I encourage every Ipswich business to register at www.shopipswich.com.au and to also join the Chamber of Commerce. As a sole trader the Chamber offers me the opportunity to connect with other businesses of all sizes and show that I can compete with any other business, regardless of size. It’s true for all Chamber Members. There is real power in working collaboratively.”
